Franklin,NH
What is Franklin,NH like.
We are an adult family considering a move there.
Can someone tell me what the local hospital is like.
Also, how is the property tax rate?
Thank you.

Hi Mary,
can't help you much on Franklin, but if you go to 2007 you can download a pdf of the 2007 taxes for every town in NH. the official town page might have this year's taxes - which can make a good idea on whether the taxes have gone up. Franklin, NH 03235
Hope this is of some help.

Hi
My husband and I just moved to Franklin in October, and we love it. The taxes are about normal I think, maybe a bit on the high side. We did alot of research about the surrounding towns and found Franklin to be the best FOR US.
I have been to the Franklin Hospital ER once and was in and out in an hour with my 4 year old daughter. I was shocked!!!! I have had a few appointments there and never had to wait more than a couple minutes.
Anything else you would like to know?
Dawn

Franklin NH
Franklin is nice and quiet, taxes are okay hospital is fair per my experience. People are more laid back than southern NH. Great shopping at the outlet mall in Tilton, the adjoining community. Good Luck!

Like most places in NH, Mother's Day to Father's day is fly season. Some days they're bothersome and others they're no where to be found. They're mostly the little swarming annoying ones not the big blood-thirsty ones you find in Maine.

Aptor, do you mean icky because of the black flies or is there something else? Sorry to 'pepper' you with the questions... lol!!
Lincolnian, is everywhere in NH pretty much the same as far as amount of black flies- it isn't a case of being more intense because of location near the water or mountains?

I lived in Franklin, NH for 20 years and it was okay. There are better areas, but I think you will like it. Everyone in the area is pretty friendly as far as I know. Its the kind of area where you know everyone in town because you see them everywhere you go. I don't recommend going to the nearby lakes though, you are better off driving to Lake Winnipesaukee because certain parts of Franklin can get pretty nasty. Overall its a pretty dead city, but you are down the street from the Tanger Outlets so you can at least get a life going.

What do you mean certain parts can get nasty? Are you talking bugs, pollution, or maybe nasty people as in crime?
