Default Bristol/Andover/ littleton-Opinions

We are moving back to NE. Just the wife & I {no more kids at home
Can anyone please give us opinions on these towns or areas as far as decent places to live {crime etc. } Taxes are not really an issue right now, But reasonable prices on homes would help. Thanx.

Hi Mosrto - I can only speak for Littleton and our views on the town/area. We really enjoy it up here and we feel very safe here, as well. Like most places, we have our share of "crimes" but nothing that has happened here in the 2 years we've been here have made us feel unsafe.

Our Main Street is going to be redone, I *think* starting in the fall, the Opera House is also undergoing renovations and we're supposed to have a new police station also going up.

Housing prices run the gamut from $100K up to 400K+. I believe the median price is 174K.

We are able to find something to do, either here in town or in neighboring communities whenever we feel like doing things. Most of the places in town close by 8 or 9 p.m. - earlier in the winter, later in the spring/summer/fall.

We have a variety of restaurants. In the summer, there's a playhouse in Whitefield that puts on plays, if you are so inclined.

It does get cold up here - the first year we were here we had a stretch of about a week or so where it didn't get above 0 and for awhile it was -20 or so below - last winter it didn't get as cold, but we did get a ton of snow!

What type of work (if any) will you and/or your wife be doing? That may make a difference as to whether or not Littleton is for you - also if you enjoy big shopping malls, etc., we don't have those.

Here's a link to just about anything and everything about Littleton - Littleton, New Hampshire

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I'll give it my best shot at answering

Hi Mosrto,

I live in Bristol, so I can give you some info on our town. The median housing price is probably pretty close to that in Littleton, but there's also a big range. Properties with lake access and beach rights in the northern part of the town (around Newfound Lake) are on the high end of the price range.

We have a nice town center with restaurants and stores, although if you're looking for big stores like Wal-Mart, fast food restaurants, movie theaters, etc., you'll have to drive about 25 minutes from downtown Bristol (to Plymouth, Meredith, or Tilton), - there is one supermarket in town. It's a decent-sized small town (about 3,000 people), slightly smaller than Littleton and slightly larger than Andover, but the best thing about it, in my opinion, is the beauty and peacefulness of the area.

Newfound Lake is really lovely, and in the summer there's plenty to do around the area. We get our fair share of vacationers but the lake is still much quieter than Winnepesaukee.

Like the other towns you're considering, crime is not really an issue here.

If you need any more info, please let me know
