Build a story--Game (house, buying, living)

The story begins
I’ve often thought that it would be interesting to see where a story would go if everyone would add several lines or a thought taking the story into a different direction or adding to the overall theme. I’d like to try it and if the story is good enough maybe the members can publish it and whatever money is earned ~ you could give to me. lol

The overall direction of the story could become a horror novel, a love novel, or most anything of fiction. Most likely it would be best to keep it in an interesting story line that others will find enjoyable to read and desirable to post additional lines or thoughts, keeping things moving.

I hope you all dont mind me posting these silly games once in a while, It goes to show you what an exciting life I have lol. Well here goes.


As the sun was setting down behind the mountains, the Jones family were watching their favorite TV show. As darkness slowly came the father got up, opened the cellar door & went downstairs................

They heard him going down the stairs and moving around....then silence.....suddenly he yelled, "Marge! Come down here! You HAVE to see this!"......

But the door wouldn't open. It had closed and locked behind him!

then marge tried franticaly to get the door open, but could not. so she went to get an ax to break the door down and then..........

the door disappeared as if it never existed...there was smooth wall. Marge thought she was losing her mind....where did the door go? She turned around to call the children and her jaw dropped.


The living room was gone, the children were nowhere to be seen and Marge had no clue where she was. She was so confused. She looked down at the ax in her hand and ..........

....she saw it wasn't an ax at all....it was a large snake, looking at her....The snake opened it's mouth and she could hear her children and husband calling to her. She looked back to the living room and all she could see was a thick mist rising from where the floor should be........

Her thoughts went back to a time 10 years ago when she thought about buying her first house, they never lived in New Hampshire before.............

Marge Jones was stunned. She couldn't move. The whole room was spinning out of control. She seemed to hear their voices, but muted, seemingly far away. The mist had risen, surrounding her. She suddenly realized her feet were cold, as if standing on frozen steel. She had no bearings as to where up, down, or sideways were. She tried to scream but nothing came out. Just as she felt she was going to pass out.....

she realized she was in another demension in time and had to find a way back if she was going to find her family. then all of a sudden she saw a light off in the distance and started walking toward it, not knowing what it was or where it would take her. marge figured she had no choice but to see what it was and then...........

She started thinking back to 10 years ago when they were buying their first house in NH. Never having lived in NH before, she vaguely remembered the "old-timers" telling stories of such happenings but couldn't remember what she had been told......she walked slowly toward the light, trying to remember, the snake still in her hand, hearing her children and husband's voices coming from it's mouth.....
