Moving to the Conway area
My husband and I were hoping to move back to New England sometime in the Fall of '09. We have been looking around in the Conway and Madison areas. My husband is a mechanic and I will be an LPN/LVN by then. We have been there to visit several times (my hubby has family there) but have not been able to settle on a definite area to look at. We are both in our early 30s and we have 2 small children. We are trying to find someplace with a small town feeling. Could you please give me some idea of what the job market would be like and recommend some places to look? I would greatly appreciate any input you can offer. Thanks

most of the work is strictly seasonal. You might be able to pick up a job in Rochester at the Walmart, Lowes or Kohls or some other chain store.
There is a hospital in Rochester and a few outpatient type clinics, so you should be able to find a job as a nurse fairly easily. Also, check with the local schools.
Waste Management (trash removal company) almost always has signs looking for mechanics.
Good luck in your job search!

Yeah, i agree with buck. pretty seasonal up there. i been up there quite a few times and in the winter there isn't much going on. summer time it get's real busy. you might want to find something a little further south. good luck what ever you choose.

So it would be a little better to look farther south. I would really rather try to stay working in the medical field (student loans to pay ) not really interested in retail or seasonal work. Could you offer any advice on the Rochester area? Thanks for your help.

you will find alot more medical jobs and mechanic jobs further south. because there are alot more hospitals and garages down south. i used to live in rochester. it is a very nice place to live. there is plenty of those kinds of jobs their and in surounding town and cities. this is the local news paper for that area.
