Huge Hail Storm
We are having a huge thunder and lightning storm with tons of rain and BIG hail right now. I hear it hitting the window and it sounds like someone continually throwing rocks on our roof and at our windows. We have had bad storms over the past 2-3 weeks but this is the worst. I am surprised we still have power. Anyone else getting this?

We're getting LOTs of thunder, lightening and buckets of rain, but no large hail yet. I'm in Manchester.

My table on the deck has little ice balls of hail all over it. Almost everywere else the rain washed away the hail. This storm is a doozie. It is still going strong. I am really surprised that we have not lost power yet.

We had a lightning strike hit a tree at the end of our driveway last Friday. It made the local paper that comes out today.Several strikes hit Colebrook last Friday. Check it out at colbsent.com/stories.php

Wow Colebrook, the tree exploded!?! You all were really lucky that nobody was hurt. These storms that are coming every day the last week or two are very strange (this reminds me of when we lived in the St. Louis area!)

I worked all day in the Upper Valley. There was some dark clouds and thunder but that was about it. As we traveled south down I89 back home to Warner, the road was wet but we never ran into rain.
Hope everyone is ok in this weird weather cycle

With these unusually frequent thunderstorms it sure makes me glad we don't live in Tornado Alley where such things are part of life.

These storms have been intense and severe. Real Natural Fire Works!
I find it best not to talk on your Cell Phone during the Lightening Strikes especially if you are Outside or in your car,as the static jolts can hurt your ear drums especially if you are on a Blue Tooth. It certainly zapped me more than once with my Blue Tooth. However, I do not think the cell phone is an obvious target for lightening but then again who knows for sure?

Nicole - Hope you're okay! Sounds like it was one heck of storm! We had hail in NY one year that was about the size of a golfball - I collected a bunch of them and froze them to show my then-husband, who was away on a business trip during the storm
Colebrook - Good grief! It's a good thing you or your wife weren't outside when that tree got zapped! You didn't have a car under it, did you?
