Thanks everyone for your advice. Rob, I book marked those studless snow tires. When we get out there, I am sure my hubby will look into those. I was just thinking we might miss most of winter if we get out there in March. I just didnt want to invest in tires that we arent going to need to use for very long, Plains10 you said it still snows in March. When does it really stop then, April?

The calendar says spring starts around March 20. Snow can fall anytime in March, or even April, providing some fantastic spring skiing. The nice thing is that the rays of the sun are so much stronger in March and April, the snow really doesn't last long. Even ALOT of snow isn't even shoveled (because we're all just sick of shoveling by that time) and we wait for it to melt.
This year seems to be heading toward alot of snowfall (more snow coming today, and another possible 10" in southern NH for the weekend) and in years of alot of snowfall, the following spring is bigtime mud season. So maybe you'll want to learn how to drive in mud

I honestly wouldn't bother with buying snows in March, just take it easy for the last spits of winter then buy your snows in the Fall.

Ok well that is one less thing then I have to concern myself with after moving out there. No snow tires until next year.
From the news that we are getting in So Calif, it looks as if you are getting hammered out there. I am kinda glad I am not stuck out there with my daughter, and trying to learn the town and how to drive in the snow too. Thanks for the advice.

Ice racing, anyone?
I have just become adapted to driving sideways a lot of the time. My Buick wagon has all season radials and gets sideways a lot more than the Subaru with four snow tires. You get used to it.

The best tires for winter are a set of all season radials located in Purto Rico.
