Talking No lobster for valerie...........lol

The absolute best way to eat lobster is "straight up" or lobster in the rough. Whole, boiled or steamed with seaweed draped over the top. Served with lots of napkins, drawn (clarified) butter, some lemon wedges, and a bag of chips for eating the tomalley (which the government has advised against eating this year ) There is not much better on a summer afternoon than lobster & steamers, an ice cold Sam Adams and good company and conversation. Priceless!!!

Oh a note on the lobster roll--the best lobster rolls have toasted buns, but not from the toaster or grill. THE BEST is to butter up each side of the bun, and put it in your heated black cast iron fry pan, and toast that baby up! MmmmmmmmmMMMMMM makes me want one right NOW!!!

oh val, stop it right now!!!! i can't take it your making my mouth water...i haven't had a good seafood meal hear in upstate ny. i have to go back to nh once a year to get good seafood. nobody up here knows how to cook haddock. when you order haddock plate here it's almost burnt and you need a steak knife to cut it.....and i'm not kidding...they are clueless up here how to cook seafood. the funny thing is that people that have lived all their lives think that's good... i was like OMG you guys have no clue what good seafood is.. so DW and i make a trip to nh once a year so we can have a good seafood dinner....newicks is are place of choice when we lived in nh which by the way i am a native, so i know what good seafood tastes like......but thanks for RUBBING IT IN VAL......THAT WAS REAL NICE OF YOU...

Okay, being new to NH I still don't know all the towns mentioned here. If you're in the Manchester area what is the best place nearby for lobster or any other kind of local seafood? My parents are visiting this fall and my mom is hankering for lobster. She thought Maine is the obvious choice but are there any others closer than Maine?

And Val, you post is making me drool!

Newicks in Dover (at the Newington Dover line) is the best - it's 45 minute drive from Manchester, but it is the best and worth it!
