Hankering for a Lobster Roll...where to go?
I just had a pretty good lobster roll yesterday in Lancaster at Joshua's Grille.
My husband just told me he has a hankering for a good lobster roll. Any suggestions where to get one in the White Mountains or Lakes regions? (something substantial...not just filler!...and good bread, too!)
Thanks

In Wolfeboro, The Wolfetrap has a great lobster roll and great atmosphere, etc.....used to go there all the time!!
If you are ever in the Manchester area, Tinker's Seafood has one of the best lobster rolls around!!

OMG, I can't believe Kevin's Cafe hasn't been mentioned by any one here yet. It's awesome here for seafood! Definitely GO here for your lobster roll, you will really enjoy it. The owner (Kevin) worked at Legal's Seafood for the longest time in Boston; then he decided to open this place in Moultonboro, everything is extremely fresh & yummy! It's right on Whittier Highway; not far from that basket/wicker store and that light at that steep hilly part of the road, you can't miss it. It's SO good that we drive up to it a couple of times a year.
Here's more info on it:

ANOTHER place that you should try to remember IF you're in this neck of the woods is over in Kittery, Maine. It's called Bob's Clam Hut. GO here for one of their (jumbo) lobster rolls. They're awesome here as well...

I just went to Bob's Clam Hut website and realized I've been there before. It WAS delish. I'm heading to Maine next Monday so will have to stop there for dinner.

Did you ever find that "good" lobster roll. I had one down here last weekend and it was terrible. Your not gonna find any better lobster than you have up there.

Can someone tell me what a lobster roll is exactly? I read about it once in a novel, and there's a fast food place near our hotel that sells them for 8.95. What is it?

I think the traditional lobster roll is just lobster meat with a little bit of mayo on a plain old hot dog roll. $ 8.95 is a good price for a roll. I'm not so sure about fast food type lobster rolls.
