I live near Nashua and there are many really nice towns around Nashua to raise a family...

BTW, NH has the highest per capita retired military in the country....
Interesting comment about the retired military. I take then that retired military are welcome?

We are relocating to the Nashua area at the end of the school year and are retired military. We love NH and look forward to raising our three children with the patriotism and values that we have witnessed ourselves while visiting the Granite State.

Great thread.

So, Coffeetalk, you are probably interested in school systems considering the three kids.... In my area, the towns of Amherst, Bedford, and Hollis are all high end towns with highly regarded school systems....

Fallfanatic and Seamusnh, thank you for the greeting.

Fallfanatic, I hope your move is without incident; moving can be so stressful. We are relocating from Texas and truly look forward to the change in climate.

Seamusnh, Thank you for your opinion regarding the schools in the area. Two of our children are of school age and my husband teaches science and coaches as well. We would like our children to attend the same school system where their Dad is teaching.

We hope to find a town on the outskirts of Nashua that will provide safe access to the City when necessary.

Any ideas or concerns you would like to share are greatly appreciated.

We are moving from Fort Worth. It is a great town 700,000+, wonderful food and people but its not New Hampshire. The schools are lacking and crime is off the charts. Plus no Red Sox, Pats, Celtics, etc. (Husband grew up in a small town outside of Boston).

This forum is great - I never knew it existed.

Where did you grow up Texas? I actually grew up in a small town (3500 at the time) outside of Waco.

I am from north of Ft. Worth. Are you familiar with Granbury, Weatherford or Aledo?
Anyway, that is the area I am from. I use to live outside of Waco in a small town called Hubbard...that was a long time ago.

I too found this forum, while doing reasearch on our upcoming move. I never knew about it before then either. You can find alot of answers to your questions by searching through the past threads.

There are alot great people on here and you will be very happy about the way they help eveyone!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!

This is the same image I have everytime I see this title....LOL

So...When it's my turn to move are y'all going to be there to help me???

I am hoping to move there as well. Here are my questions if anyone has the time -

I am leaning towards Franklin; have never been there but for some reason am really drawn there. I work as a medical office manager/administrator and understand there is a hospital close to ther. After looking on craigslist i see downtown lofts being refurbished and wonder if it is being revitalized. I live in a small town now and am looking for more of the same. My girls are in college but I like living in an area that has good schools. It says something about the community. I enjoy volunteering with community theatre. I miss seeing the mountains but am not really a hiker. I hate humidity and when I leave Florida hope to be rid of it.

Questions -
What are the seasons like?
Humidity levels in the summer?
Rental rates for the lofts downtown are great - 1 or 2 bedrooms?
What are the utilities like?
What is the job situation like in the medical admin or billing?

Thanks for all the help in advance!
