Default looking for....ideas and an artist

Good Morning everyone!
I'm hoping one of you can help me! I'm looking for a caricature artist that can come to my son's 10th birthday party and do caricatures of him and his friends. Also, does anyone have ideas for any fun games for a group of 10 year olds?? My son is getting too "old" for a "theme party" like I've always done (his words LOL) so I really have to think of things for the kids to do!
Thanks!
Nicole

What about a pool party or skateboarding party? I don't know about the caricatures, so I'm sorry I can't help on that side. But look at the activities your son and his friends like to do - maybe do a combination of them. Most kids like video games, so maybe a 1 hr stop at a video stop type game store, then a trip to a pool or skateboard park?

Actually I just googled caricature artists for hire in Manchester NH and came up with some of this link:

http://www.gigmasters.com/Caricaturist/Caricaturist_Manchester_NH.asp (broken link) <---lists several people

A few years back, my son went to a party in our neighborhood that had Curious Creatures come out to the house, did a presentation, brought animals in, etc. This particular party was lizards & snakes, and a couple of really BIG bugs, but the person that I spoke with said they have a variety of animals that they bring along. My son, and all the other kids really seemed to love it!
Webpage: Curious Creatures LIVE EDUCATIONAL ANIMAL SHOWS (http://www.curiouscreatures.org/kidzparties32.html - broken link)

Then you could always tailor the party to animal or rain forest or bug or whatever, maybe a matching pinata

Or, like nh2nc mentioned, something to do with video games. Something that ALL the kids seem to have in common

thank you for the ideas!! They sound great! It gets harder to think of things that either I have not done already or that the kids will like now that they are getting a little older. I give my son the option every year to have his party somewhere and he always says he wants to do it at home so his time with his friends isn't limited like some places do.
I appreciate the input!!

Hi!
I did check out that link, but it looks like the artists are looking for $150 and up to sit for an hour and draw! Yikes. I was hoping for a lower cost alternative! I hope to find someone who is more of an amateur but can do an ok job.
I did come up with a few ideas for games, etc. though. I think I'm going to do a big scavenger hunt with clues. I have a huge yard so it should be great!
My boyfriend also thought about setting up a "mini-golf" course in the yard too. And the kids are at the age where they really like music so I asked my son if he'd want to do karaoke and he said yes! : ) I'll have to make sure my video camera is charged! A bunch of 10 year olds singing should be quite entertaining for the adults too. LOL
