Relocation Research
I'm here fishing for info. Lucky for me there are so many willing to oblige. Transplanting my 2 boys, 13 & 11, and myself from sunny CA and NH is definitely in the lead. Found CD when I was offered a job in Charlotte a couple of years ago and started to look into the relocation. In the end, wasn't comfortable with the job and Charlotte was growing exponentially.
Will be doing a winter visit after Christmas (actually bought long pants). Looking forward to seeing it. I'm leaning towards Exeter area as schools are the big priority.
The second challenge will be finding a job. Have to maintain two voracious appetites. Currently I'm the So Cal regional supervisor for a prop mgmt and development co. Haven't seen that translate well to NH yet, so it's time to get creative.

Keep in mind, I lived there from 1982-1987, so it's been awhile.
We lived down by Idaho Falls/Pocatello. I remember the area was growing; that I could ride my bike for miles & mom wouldn't worry. Yards were big, the Rocky Mountains were outside my window. We'd go to Yellowstone for daytrips; the Tetons were nearby, lots of parks within an hour or two. I remember everyone as very friendly, the land as very flat (Snake River Valley plains, so flat till you hit the Rockies). Dry, hot summers and cold winters with plenty of snow. I remember the radio would say Pocatello had snowdrifts to 12 and 14 feet tall. I saw a shirt once that said "If you've never seen Hell freeze over, you've never been to Idaho Falls!"
I have good memories of the area

I visit here because I've been researching our much anticipated move back up to New England. DH and I are originally from RI but I summered in the Sunapee region growing up. (My grandparents are from there). I've always loved NH and in a few years we may actually be lucky enough to call it home. Of course we are checking out other places and very well may end up back in RI, but we'll see - right now we are favoring the Portsmouth area although I love Merrimack county and the mountains.

Prototype? I lived in Montpelier on/off as a kid and went to S5G in 1988 (damn, has it REALLY been 20 years?).
