Miss you guys!

Hi Kat I was wondering about you. Glad to see you are still here.
How is it going with your book? I have had a real hard time lately with my writing-nothing that I put down sounds right.

Hey Kat--it's SO good to hear from you!! I've often wondered how things are going for you. And so proud to hear that you're saving for a house of your own Atta girl. How is your fellow gypsy mother in law doing, and are you still in the same rental house? Someday we've got to plan a gathering--you were one of the first people I talked to when I joined city data!!!

I'm one of those "dreaded Massachusetts folk" - grew up near Boston, but I visited relatives in the Sunapee area most summers, and I fell in love with NH. Unfortunately, work took me overseas and to DC for the past 20+ years... I was taking some vacation time visiting friends in NH in 2005 and was scoping out places to possibly retire to when the time comes... and I almost literally tripped over the house/land of my dreams in the Lakes Region... so, now I have a home to come to whenever I am Stateside, and I'm taking my time getting it ready for full-time occupancy!
(I'm glad no one can throw snowballs on-line, as I was able to spend most of the winter there last year, and I LOVED all the snow!)
Funny enough, I also did not find the Forum until after I already bought my home - one of the posts was referenced while I was researching some topic... but I keep coming back... the posts and comments and camaraderie keep me from getting too homesick...
I'm counting down till my next visit... hopefully August of next year! Great to meet you all!

I started looking at the site about 3 - 4 weeks ago when my husband decided to interview for a job in Keene. We live in Dallas, but are both from PA and lived in Binghamton, NY for 4 years before moving to TX. It sounds like his first round of interviews went well and we may both be coming up in the next week or two for round 2, plus visiting schools, checking out the housing market, etc. I have learned SO MUCH and had such great suggestions from the great people on this site, which has eased my mind immensely about a possible move (we've lived in TX for 16 years, so I still think we may have some real culture shock!). Thanks for all the help, support, and good wishes!!! I will keep ya'all (JK) posted on the job/move!

I'm loving $2.02 gas currently - wish it was around when I was driving to Indiana last summer.
good thing it's gone down, because the food prices are doubled.
