JFR - I thought I read somewhere that you were moving to SC - What made you decide on SC?
BTW, I'm sure I'll still be confused, but now I'll have a thread to refer to when my brain turns to mush the next time!

DW and i decided on s.c because they seem to get the best weather year round. we didn't want to go way down south, we wanted to be close enough to drive back to n.h or n.y where we both still have family. i just wanted to move far enough south where we didn't get the extreme cold and snow... where to old for that and don't enjoy it any more. also neither one of us like the snow, we hide inside all winter. so we figured why not move where we can enjoy the out doors all year round. that's how we came to our decision.... signed unconfused..lol..

According to the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, the MWV consists of Albany, Bartlett, Bretton Woods, Chatham, Chocorua, Conway, Crawford Notch, Eaton, Effingham, Freedom, Fryeburg (ME), Glen, Hart's Location, Intervale, Jackson, Madison, North Conway, Pinkham Notch, Snowville, and Tamworth.
I just know that when I drive into Conway, I see the "Welcome to the Mount Washington Valley" signs.
ETA: Further on the website is says the MWV "...takes in 27 towns that surround Mount Washington". So, Littleton could be one of the seven not named?

Born and raised on LI -- left the 80s to go to college and never looked back (horrid place that it is, except for Riverhead and points East, imho) -- I often say that the only things I miss about NY is food and family.
Went to college in PA...worked and lived in Harrisburg/New Cumberland/Mechanicsburg PA for several years.
Moved to Maryland in '94 when I got married...lived in Laurel and Gaithersburg for a few years than in the Annapolis area for the last 9+ years. Moved to NH 6 weeks ago for DH's job relocation. Slowly settling in...making progress! At least I feel like I am off the merry-go-round now and am just waiting for the room to stop spinning...
Found the Boards earlier this year when we were researching NH and the Syracuse area for DH's two job relo options. You all are fabulous so I just stuck around.

I was born and raised at the Jersey shore. My husband was also born and raised in NJ. We moved to New Hampshire in 1999-first to Nashua, then to Concord and now we live in Laconia-Weir's Beach. We enjoy living in Laconia. NH reminds me of the NJ of my youth and I saw how NJ went down the wrong road and I am hopeful that does not happen to NH-so my husband and I are fighting hard that it does not. NH is a great place and does not need to change.

Your a awful young guy to be hiding inside all winter. There will be days even in S.C. where you wont like the weather. They get snow up there. Good luck with your move.
