Can someone tell me about Grasmere?
I was looking on a map, and it shows that it's only 6.2 miles away from Manchester. In a previous post, I had asked about neighboring towns to Manchester that were only 10 miles or so away. I received many helpful suggestions but no one mentioned Grasmere. Any particular reason? Just curious. Thanks!

Maybe I am wrong and I am sure someone will correct me-but I thought that was a section of Goffstown.

Yeah, that makes sense! I just took a closer look and it appears you're right. My bad!

Well...for what it's worth: What's Goffstown like? I've generally heard good things.

Never heard of it
I did some digging + found a map reference as you mentioned near Manchester. N. H. does not have an incorporated town called Grasmere. I did find side by side references of "Grasmere water district"which is proximal to the actual townof Goffstown. My genealogists handbook From The new England Genealogy society does not list any such town a Grasmere. It does say Goffstown was known as Naragansett #4 until some time1733/1734. Perhaps its a public vernacular for a district. it certainly is not a town. you're inquiry might better be about Goffstown.

Grasmere, like Pinardville, is a village within the boundaries of and, under the charter for the Town of Goffstown. Your correct, Yankee, about Naragansett #4. The area was also know as Medford Farms during this time. This area of Grasmere was granted to Medford, Mass. for the raising of domestic animals and food crops.
Few people know that Grasmere, aside from encompassing both east and west sides of the river also includes the Hillsborough County complex and extends along Mast Road to the intersection of Danial Plummer road directly across from the Shaw's Plaza.
