Uh, actually your very first post to City-Data on all the negatives that you perceive in NH really is close to being libelous (slander is spoken). Here is a definition for you:
An untruthful statement about a person, published in writing or through broadcast media, that injures the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because libel is a
tort (a
civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Libel is a form of
defamation , as is
slander (an untruthful statement that is spoken, but not published in writing or broadcast through the media).
Since you are not targeting a single person, but a whole state, it can't hold, but the spirit is still there (as a singular libel, but perhaps would as group libel). The negative generalizations, untruths and name calling are not a free speech right. I only bring this up because your initial comment in this thread was that you had a right to free speech unless it "slander or vocal ravagement." Well, it seems that is exactly what you did in your initial post.
The vast majority of us here in the NH forum have made a conscious decision to make it our home based on our own personal desires and preferences. To slam those desires is simply bad form. It explains why your initial thread was closed and received such harsh feedback. The post also left people desiring to have a conversation and not a slap in your face, no where to go.
I really doubt that you would have received such a response if you had approached it as "NH is not working for me," and listed the reasons why with an intent to converse and not simply create a negative billboard. I don't think anyone here is trying to hide the "warts" of NH, but we also don't think we live in a bad place either.
The vast majority of your complaints are quite subjective and therefore open to personal interpretation. Please try to be open to respecting the people you are trying to communicate with and you will find a more welcoming response, especially when it is subjective - even if the point you are trying to get across is a negative.
