masonn is on a distinguished road
Default Nh

I'll probaly get banned for this, but I belive in free speech and I belive as long as what we speak is free from slander or vocal ravagement then we should be able to say whatever despite however diagreeable my opinions are (i.e. invasive egos, limited mentalities)(original points proven not by me but by the respondents)
The reason I put up a post, is the the same reason people advertise for YOU to move here on these forums. To entice you to move to their state with a pitch, I'm trying to dissuading from moving to this state with a pitch; because everything I said is true. Only one man could provided rebuttals when everyone else jumped on the bandwagon"you're mean, leave".
The education system is in shambles in our state, as caliman has not lived here, I have seen the effects of it first-hand. I.e. One of the highest drugs rate in the nation/so much so they have A DEA OFFICE in such a small/parsley populated state!!! Most of the young go to school, drop out, or bomb through it barely graduating, get out and devote their lives to drugs and proleterian job. Hence the drug problem/bad economy. If anyone has lived in a least populated state, then it's prime facia that the economy is weak. Those are the facts, more jobs mean more people spend, means more people are employed to serve those people, et cetra, et cetra. Non-existant in NH. There is no culture, yes caliman seems to be racist("tired of seeing mexicans"; his mentality is a welcome one here. And yes for the critical man who said what kind of genius says it's pretty and then ugly; well like I said the bulidings and overall material atmpohsere is run-down and seamy(which nobody disagreed with) however, the scenery is pretty. You see it's possible for beauty to exist in more than one place.
Also the reason I have a different perspective from NH Residents, is because I am not a life-longer; I have lived across the country(autonomously) and I have been assimliated in different economies/cultures. So I have first-hand knowledge that yes the economy is weak, yes it is much easier to get higher paying jobs and a myraid of choices in other states, yes people are much nicer/polite in the rest of the usa, et cetra et cetra. and don't worry out of the few young people in your state who chose to go to college, I too am going out of state!!
There are 2 sides to every story, and I want everyone to be informed of the opposing side. Please if you're considering moving here, at least visit here, look in the local newspaper for jobs and talk to the local townspeople(without telling them you're thinking about moving here, they'll put on a sweet masqurade)

Your entitled to your opinion and I too am a strong advocate of free speech. Your opinion is one of many, don't get me wrong... I would say most people love CA, especially those making 70k+ per year. I may be prejudice but I never descriminate. There is a big difference. Besides... if it weren't for racists, there would be no such thing as race to begin with and maybe that is what some people like yourself want but if that were to ever happen, the culture that you so strongly embrace would be non-existant.

So, tell me masonn, why are you in NH. I assume you went there on your own volition. So what's holding you back from leaving and why are you deciding to post such a comment? You feel the need to "save" people from making a choice? People are smarter than you think, pal. We all can make conscious decisions of our own without help from bitter, negative people like you.

I live on Cape Cod presently. Yep, the romping grounds of the Kennedy's. Lots of multi-million $ mansions. Do we have abandoned buildings and seedy sections of towns? You bet your sweet bippy we do. But, the Cape still remains beautiful to those who see it and they come back year after year.

You know what...I've had enough of people like you. Please leave before I get there. I don't want to bump into you.

It’s one thing to point out the negative aspects of NH, which regular posters here do honestly and frequently, but it’s another thing to make sweeping generalizations that have little or no basis in fact.

Shambles? How many school districts have you actually lived in? The NH education system is consistently ranked among the best in the nation, although some districts are naturally going to be below average. And yes, I did go to school here – quite recently, in fact. My school district had some of the lowest test scores in the state, but there’s no way I would consider it “in shambles.”

First of all – “parsley”?
Second of all, do you have any facts to support that claim? From what I can gather, there are quite a few states with higher rates of drug abuse than NH.

This is what I meant by ridiculous generalizations.

Isn’t “culture” kind of a subjective notion? If you think that there is no art, music, theatre, etc. in NH, then you are gravely mistaken and need to get out more. If you have a problem with the relative lack of ethnic diversity in NH, then why not try appreciating the cultural heritage of NH for what it is? The English, French-Canadian, and Irish cultures have all contributed a lot to our state and are no less valuable than more “exotic” cultures. Besides, you’re practically next door to Boston, a very culturally diverse city. Would you rather live somewhere in the rural west where you are hundreds of miles away from a city of any kind?

Many of those “run-down” buildings are over 300 years old. Have you ever been to Europe? You’d probably think everything looks run-down over there. And I find it hard to believe that you’re as well-traveled as you claim, since nothing in NH compares to the kind of poverty-stricken areas you find in the South, e.g. Appalachia.

NH is a rural state and the national economy is weak now. What do you expect? If you want more jobs, you have to live closer to a major city. There are certainly areas of this country where choices are much more limited than in NH.

Again, this is completely subjective. And if you ask people on this forum who have moved to NH from other parts of the country, I think you might find yourself proven wrong.

Another sweeping generalization. And if people in NH are as unfriendly as you claim, then wouldn’t they be wary of outsiders?
I have no problem with you expressing some of the downsides of living in NH, but you must make well-supported points. If the sole purpose of your posts is to bash the state, then you’re not going to get much respect from anyone, including those who are thinking of moving here.

Masonn what's clear is that you are projecting whatever personal "issues" that are troubling you into a diatribe on the state of NH. It's sad, really. You might want to talk to a friend.

People, please remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think Versau set a good example here on how to respectfully disagree. Lets not make this difficult for Suz.
