Looking for an artsy college town in nh to live
HI THERE,
I LIVE IN THE MONADNOCK REGION AND LOOKING TO MOVE FAR AWAY FROM A NASTY BREAKUP.... WANT TO STAY IN NH AND WANT TO LIVE IN AN ARTSY COLLEGE KIND OF TOWN... ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I would go with New London or Henniker. Henniker is really nice. You should be able to find an apt. in the $1K range that includes heat.

Portsmouth. It's not a college town, but it's close to Durham, home to UNH. Annual film festival, broadcasts Metropolitan Opera at the movie theater, great restaurants, live music, some theater, plus a cute, walkable downtown, lots of shops, lots of history, and a gorgeous setting on the water. It is my favorite city in NH!

Ya...Portsmouth is not technically a college town, but it does have a college town feel. As noted, UNH is close by. Great town.
