Default suggestions

Seriously considering New Hampshire after being laid off and not seeing much of a future here in Illinois. Ideally would looking for work as an Electronics Technician or similar type work. Any suggestions for companies that are hiring, and/or areas to look at. From what it looks like Manchester, and Nashua might be good places to look. I would be moving from Rockford, IL, and it looks like these cities would be a walk in the park comparability.

yep, those are probably your best bet. Bedford might have something. I'd strongly suggest you line up a job first before you move (and then rent for a while so you have a taste of the season cycle) before you buy. TI is in Manchester, and BAE is in Nashua, Segway (and whatever else that guy is doing is around Bedford I believe).

I am a Technician in the Manchester area. I live in Nashua. Our firm has had contract Techs from agencies for a year now and speaking with them they all say that Technician jobs are very hard to find. My own company has only 4 production techs; down from about 8.
There are many firms that outsource so they don't need their own techs. The firms they outsource to are smaller and have poorer benefit packages or are outside the region.
Between Mass. and Southern N.H. there are a lot of people that used to have good tech jobs.
You are welcome to visit the area and check it out.
