Where should we move to in NH
Hello
Hope you can help my husband is planning on retiring towards the end of this year and we are looking at the possibility of moving to NH. We are looking to move to an area where we can purchase a home for a max of $300,O0 we have 2 young children and schooling is very important, as is a community that is kid friendly our son who is 7 loves all kinds of sports especially baseball. We are planning on taking a trip in March for the weekend all suggestions really would be greatly appreciated. We would like a home with a acre or less. I come from Ireland originally we now now live in an apartment in NY so we would love to live in any area that's safe and a house with lots more space .
Thanks for all suggestions

Moving
Hi Carlow
I will tell you up front I happen to be a Realtor but...I also live here in the"Lakes Region" of NH, Concord.
I may be partial but I love this area! We have great schools and community and Concord itself is a Capitol city with a small town atmosphere.
There are many smaller towns in the area with homes in the 300's price range. It all depends on what you are looking for. The best thing about this area is we are a short drive to the ocean, lakes and mountains.
I am also posting you a link to get statistics on all NH towns.

Don't hesitate to ask me any questions...

You'd love Antrim. It's a great little town in the Monadnock region named after the Antrim in Northern Ireland. It's just the right size; big enough to have everything you need, but still a nice small town feel, with lots of town spirit. There are weekly summer concerts at the gazebo in the nice town park overlooking Great Brook, which runs through the center of town. There are two really nice lakes, one with a free town beach. Also plenty of hiking nearby. It's a fairly easy drive to Peterborough, Keene and Concord. And most of all, really NICE people!

There are several excellent areas in NH. Most have good school systems and positive responses for living in the area. Are there specific things you are seeking besides a good school and a good sports world?
Are you also looking to be near a large city? Do you like to go out to the movies and the like?? Each thought about the specifics would create a better situation for knowing what you are looking for.
Keene is excellent area, and has a college community nearby. Portsmouth is well known, but it is very touristy, and the pricing market for the area is going up fast with homes, since so many people are moving there. Dover is not too far from Portsmouth and is beautiful.
Remember you will need to enjoy snow, since depending on where you are living in NH, you will see a lot of it.

Enjoy your trip! At least we finally got some snow!!! While in Antrim, also check out Hancock, Dublin and Francestown -beautiful neighboring towns with a very "New England" feel. Another fun thing is the old-fashioned movie house in Peterborough on Saturday night at 8PM. Nice old-fashioned prices too!

Speaking of Dublin, New Hampshire...
While browsing, I happened upon this live webcam in Dublin (The Yankee Webcam at Yankee Magazine headquarters).
