Question hot air balloon rides

Hey guys - I'd like to surprise DH with a hot air balloon ride for his upcoming 40th birthday -- any companies you'd recommend?

Thanks! Jackie

Hi Jackie, not in NH but near you (although if the weather is right your route may take you over NH):

Balloons of Vermont, LLC

What a great present!!

CallModerator cut: post link or DM info, no posting of phone numbers allowed He owns the Post Mills Airport(next to Lake Fairlee) and does balloon rides. Great balloon pilot and interesting fellow has quite an eccentric museum at the field. Still not in NH but it is probably only a couple of miles as the crow flies from the border.

I would look for an operator that was definitely full of Hot Air! Try the Manchester phone book or the old standby - google Hot Air Balloons

BYW - Balloon pilots are examined and licensed by the FAA.

there's the Bearship in Derry that does them. They used to land all the time in the fields behind my house in Derry.

it was $300 for a ride back then, but that was roughly 10 years ago. If you need something closer, you could contact the Granite State Balloon Association.

My uncle was the first person in the world to fly a hot air balloon underground ! He was the first to go down into a huge cavern and some other balloonists followed him down. Marvel Cave Branson Mo. May 20 1994.

Thanks all! I did look into it back in October for his birthday but we wound up with 7 people here that day (us 4, our best friends and their daughter) and it was too spendy to pick up the tab for everyone. He got the watch he wanted, instead.

I took him ballooning for his 30th birthday and it was soooooo cool - I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to splurge (or if $ is no issue for you).
