In one word...isolated.

That far north is not my cup of tea. What are you looking for? Maybe it's your cup of tea though!

Pittsburg is awesome if you want to hunt and fish. As mentioned above, there is not much else up there. How would you support yourself financially?

I love Pittsburg and if my husband's company ever follows through on allowing people to work from home- I would move there in a minute. However I think you need to be the right type of person to live there. It is rural-especially coming from NJ. Other than Young's and a few other mom and pop's(forget the names as the one keeps changing hands), there are no stores and I really hope it stays that way. A few women who I know food shop in Canada or you can go to The IGA in Colebrook. There are more moose than people and a lot of cabins to rent. It is beautful and peaceful and if you hunt, fish and snowmobile-you would be in Heaven.

I would suggest a trip there to visit, even if it sounds too rural for you to live, as it is truly a peaceful and beautiful place.

+1 as Greg and others have said. It is awesome for hunting and fishing. I drive from the southern border all the way up to Pittsburg to hunt.

Coos County is definitely the most rural of the NH counties. Up in the far north it is very scenic, and quite isolated. It is a good place to get away from it all and far from any Interstate highway! The furthest north I have been is Lancaster, though.

My opinion is double yuck I swear the people are not right in the head up there. Colebrook same deal. It would be an awesome setting for a horror story though That would work really well!
