No.. a nanny law is like seatbelts or bike helmets - telling you to do something to protect YOU. This would be related to public health and public spending (on health), like the restaurant/bar smoking ban - forbidding you to do something than can harm others. FWIW I can't see how the population density in NH would ever warrant such a ban - even if everyone had them.

I have seen the death camps and what led up to them. We are most certainly on the same path when a government begins to control every facet of one's personal freedom, as an excuse for the public good. The Nazis told the same story to the German people about the jews. Remember, freedom is only one generation away from extinction!

First they'll disarm us, and I'm sure the Obama administration is licking thier chops at the thought.

He supports:

Assault Weapons Ban
Eliminating concealed carry

Just to name the two major pushes.

He also supported banning all cartridges that could penetrate police body armour. That would be pretty much everything larger than a .22LR.

The tree of Liberty needs to be watered from time to time....

Truer words were never spoken. Like most liberals today they don't even accept the fact that we are going down that path of government control and disarmament again.

Default As natural as Forest Fires

The fact that we now have politicians who are making every effort to Micro Manage our personal freedoms like keeping warm in the winter indicates our nation in on a treacherous path towards a fascist state.

When humans burn wood to heat themselves or to cook that is a natural process, as this process has been going on since humans discovered how to make and control fire. It is just as natural as lightening starting a 100 thousand acre forest fire or a volcano eruption!!!!

When you have other humans preventing humans from burning wood that is no different than how the nazis or communists controlled the personal freedoms of their people. It is disgusting and needs to be stopped immediately!

I do not object to burning wood or any other fuel so long as the process does not create unhealthful levels of pollution. In some meteorological (generally nighttime temperature inversions) and physical (deep isolated valleys and dense urban areas) situations burning wood or coal (particularly in the “outside heaters” and other closed combustors) can make the air dangerous to breathe.

Restricting wood burning where necessary for the public health is a legitimate function of government. It is not a slippery slope to fascism and is not a new phenomenon as such restrictions were common in 16th century London and are the basis of all air pollution controls in the US. Air pollution controls are not used in China because the powerful can make the disenfranchised sick if the powerful profit from the activity. They simply do not care if they kill people with their pollution.

On a personal level I don’t care what how you heat your home so long as the resulting smoke does not threaten my health. If my health is threatened I will use legal methods of controlling your behavior such as creating legislation making the activity illegal. If there are no legal methods I will think of something else. I will not become ill so you can have a crude outside heater for your convenience.

As a pilot one of the things you see often is a new airport built way outside town where the traffic patterns don't disturb residents. The airport is a bit inconvenient, but that's the price you pay. The airport brings business however and as the town grows, the land gets bought up by people who build houses next to the airport. Then out of the blue these people who built there don't like the noise and want the airport shut down.

It's been my experience that most people fool you by walking upright.
