We are planing to visit new hampshire during first week of october. we wanted to know if this is good time to visit white mountains to see fall foliage. Please advice, this is the first time we are seeing the fall foliage.
As I posted in the Picture Thread, the fall colours are usually best in the White Mountains during the first two weeks of October. If I were you, I would go during the second week (October 6-12), but you'll still see some very nice color if you go during the first week (especially at high elevations).
We're starting to get some color around North Woodstock. I drove up 112 into the mountains today and saw the color coming in. It will be beautiful first and second week of October. Though at the rate it's changing around me I'll bet the color will be really nice in the first week and then peak or slightly past peak in the second. The nice thing is that you can always drive North if the leaves you're around don't have enough color, or South if they are past peak.
Where are you planning on staying? In the White Mountains?

I was just driving around that area the other day and saw a moose alongside the road north of Warren! Amazing
