Default Back Taxes
Hello,

We have never considered purchasing a home with back taxes before (speaking generally as we don't have a particular home in mind).

May back taxes be included in the mortgage or are they repaid with cash? Who makes the decision?

Back taxes are paid at closing. If the additional amount is included in with your mortgage, it will be with your banks OK.

I'm sure there are variations. Perhaps Val, or another in the real estate or banking business can fill you in on more details.
