wow! very impressive. Good thing you don't have a problem with heights!
I kinda like my scenery a bit more green, though.

Great shots from Yosemite! I was just there in May actually, when the waterfalls were at their peak. It was wonderful. The view from Glacier Point is amazing... but the mere thought of climbing Half Dome is terrifying.

I agree, the whole time I would out there the whole state just looked so completely dry and parched. Even the forests looked that way. I don't think anywhere in the lower 48 and compare to yosemite in terms of rock formations but I think I perfer hiking back here where it's either green, fall colors, or white.

Aww, Fishnfool you're making me homesick. I'm getting a pang looking at all those rock formations. We went to Yosemite during the winter in 06 and it was awesome. Hardly anyone there
The beauty in Cali is quite different from out here. Not as green, but wild and beautiful just the same. And there's plenty of color if you know when and where to look.

Great Photo's Fish! I love those trails. I was in Yosemite in July and spent our annual week enjoying the park like you did.
Now it's time to enjoy the many outdoor adventures of YOUR home state. It will all be new to me and especially the family. I hope to get them hiking The Flume trail if it's not too crowded next week. The colors should be awesome, not the brown, dead and grey of Cali vegetation. WE NEED WATER!!

Great pics fishn. I love Yosemite. I havent been there in years though. The waterfall is amazing. There is no way in hell I would ever climb that rock . I am truly afraid of heights, I'd pass out half way up, if I made it that far .
We have color out here....brown. If that is your color then this is the place to be. Like Capt said, we need rain out here badly. If we dont get something, then here comes our awful fire season again...

Thanks for sharing the great pics Fishn! So beautiful, different from New England but beautiful all the same. The picture of your toes hanging over the edge was enough to put my nerves on edge--never worried about heights when I was younger, but I find myself pulling away from edges these days so enjoy it for all of us! Glad you got in a couple of hikes while you were there! And Capt, I think there should be color when you get here, but it's changing over really fast. It seems just in the last day or two it's really been on the increase. Tomorrow I'll be running around in the Concord/Penacook area, so it'll be interesting to see the changes just 30 or so miles from home I'd bring a camera but it's going to RAIN AGAIN!!
