Hi, over the course of the past year (s) or so I spent alot of time here on the City-Data boards looking at moving from down south to New England.
More specifically from GA to NH and alot of people were courteous enough to provide me with information and of course varying opinions.
I have not been on here very much over the last several months, and I figured it was time for me to "Give Back", so to speak.
While I am far from an expert on NH or New England in general, I have learned a thing or two about quitting your job, selling your house, leaving your family and all that you know and moving across the country.......Hmmm........maybe it's "up" the country in this case?

With all that being said if I can be of help to anyoen with these questions, or anything in general please feel free to ask away, like I said.....I was once You.

Well we picked Peterborough for a couple of reasons.....the main reason being a vacant place near my company that we can afford!
It is very beautiful, the entire Monandnock region is. Very low crime, the landscape is gorgeous, so many things to do if you love the outdoors.

Hey thanks Sarge! We go to Rindge for Market Basket (which is the best grocery store for your money....ever!) and Wal Mart. I would imagine that Rindge will be in our considerations when we are looking to buy within the next couple of years.

Hi lukedaddy, glad you made it and are settled in. We travel through Peterborough from one son (ME) to the other (Keene) and know it's a lovely town. Hope you're enjoying it and not finding the pangs of being away from family too serious. How's the adjustment going? Nice of you to offer your help to those of us who are still anticipating our move.

Hello and thanks in advance. I am looking too move to the Lakes region in May 2010. I am from middle TN. I currently live in Northeast PA. I am attending Physical therapy school. What has been your biggest adjustment? How does the cost of living compare? What part of GA are you from? Are you happy with your move? Would you do it again? What do you miss about the South? Sorry about the # of questions.
