The simple answer is yes. Customer money doesn't go to charity. It's the stores' money that gets donated when they buy the product from Oakhurst. It's also, 10% of profits, not of sales.

Do they do packages of different meats?

I don't know, Sparky, I only buy beef, excellent bacon, cold cuts and a frozen veal stock reduction (shortcut to demi glace) from them. Worth a call to find out

Doesn't anyone go to Costco? I am hoping to move to the Portsmouth area after the first of the year and have done a fair amount of research in the shopping there. I LOVE a good deal as much as the next guy but Quality goes hand in hand with value- just because it's cheaper DOES NOT make it better. I visited in April and found a Costco in Nashua with all the same items I regularly purchase here- I do wish they would put gas at the Costco there though ( it's 20 cent on the average less than the public pumps) Hannafords from what I can tell if you shop the ads- go to Costco regularly would allow you to get the most for your money while getting best quality!

Yes, I love Costco. Haven't been to the one in Nashua yet but I'm planning on it!

I shop mainly Market Basket. I have gone to the ones on Rt. 101A from Nashua - Milford (4 of them). I also go to Shaw's and Stop'nShop in Milford and Wal-Mart in Amherst.

The prices are way better in Market Basket. The look of the stores is not "upscale" and it's kind of ugly, but for good prices, I really don't care. I get sticker shock when I go to the other stores. Milk is only $2.99 in MB, while it's north of $3.49 everywhere else. The produce section is not stellar, but it really varies from MB to MB. The one in Milford is better than the one just out exit 7W in Nashua (that's the worse MB I've been to). They just reopened the one on West Side Plaza, need to go there to judge... I do not buy meat/seafood from MB, go to a wholesale butcher for that.

Produce in Wal-mart (Amherst) is even worse than MB. Shaw's and SnS are good in produce and have good sales.

Merjolie8- glad to hear that the one right off 7w is the "worst"...I am not a fan of that store, but its the only MB I've been to since its the closet one to me. I'll have to try some of the others if I'm driving by.

Oh my! the Nashua one is where my mother shops. Glad to hear the one in Milford is good: that's most likely where we'll be shopping. Although there's apparently one in Rindge which is the same distance, so maybe we'll vary.

Again doesn't anyone go to costco? Is there a hannafords in Portsmouth? Where do you go if you live in that area or Exeter? ilk @ costco is $3@gallon here. Does any dairy deliver there? The essentials-butter, milk and eggs?
