I really am surprised to read these types of replies. The original post almost sounds like he or she is egging people on. Just like you have a choice in where to live, people have a choice in whom they vote for. I am against several ideas that are posted on this site, but would never think to stir anything up by saying so. I believe everyone has rights and that's what's makes things work. IMO, this shouldn't be a political forum. If you are "surprised" by results you find, and they upset you so much, then perhaps you should re-evaluate your decisions to live or move to NH.
Again, this original post sounds like someone stirring up things.
"Live Free or Die"?? To me, this is an important motto. Remember this, all of you NH residents.

My Lord, what a blow. "Live Free or Die", what a crock. It turns out New Hampshire is no different than Massachutsetts to the south, just another east coast socialist state. I'm crushed.
Apparently you haven't spent much time in N.H.. I've lived almost all my life in N.H. and couldn't begin to compare the two states. It's like night and day. Go up there and speak to some good old time "natives". The real NH folk. You'll be suprised.

So, people from the southern half of the state, even if their families have been in NH for generations are not "real NH folk"? I never knew that!

Wait...view of a state made based on what a newspaper says?
...is this seriously a joke?

I would hope that Democrat or Republican the views of a newspaper or the results of a single presidential election are not your deciding criteria for a place to live. I mean, and this is just me, I'd consider things like; well, I dunno- Education, Safety, Jobs, Environment, Freedom, etc...would be my key factors.

To each their own though...the 4000+ names on my background at work that remind me to never back down give you that right.

Who said anything about northern or southern parts of the state? I would think that if they've been there for generations they would be considered natives.

I suspect jmatt got confused by your phrase 'go up there' and didn't realize that since you're in FL - all of the state is 'up' and that you weren't referring to going only to the North Country.

Geez I can't wait until the election hoo-ha is over! I swear every single thread right now turns into political ranting.

I would consider N.H. "up there" from Chicago which is where the origional poster is from.

Oh come on now! Does anyone really think that journalists who sit by a computer all day reading other journalists articles would know NH? To write or present Conservative viewpoints would make them lose standing with the National level journalists and ruin their chances for moving out of this State to D.C. or N.Y.C. where they would really like to be.
I subscribe to the Nashua Telegraph and have accepted their liberal stance; its just their nature. Like the readers of Pravda years ago we have learned to "read between the lines" and care more about the Advertisements and supplements for food stores than the editorial pages.
The sad thing is most of the writers don't think they are biased and insist they are fair to all viewpoints.

That's why they are the "editorial pages." It's where opinions are offered. All papers lean one way or the other--hopefully, news stories are just that, but in the editorials, they offer their viewpoints. However, I don't think the Telegraph is a left wing paper in the sense that the Union Leader has historically been a far right wing shill-piece--albeit not so much now as in the past.

To compare the Telegraph to the Pravda is just, well, silly.
