A great disappointment
How excited I was at the thought of moving to New Hampshire! A few of you have read my posts and answered my questions, and I've been grateful for your replies.
Then I see in the news: the Concord Monitor endorses Barack Obama.
My Lord, what a blow. "Live Free or Die", what a crock. It turns out New Hampshire is no different than Massachutsetts to the south, just another east coast socialist state. I'm crushed.

The Concord Monitor is nothing short of a liberal rag. As Don Rondo once said-"the only thing it is good for is lining a bird cage" They would be endorsing whoever had the D in front of their name for president. Papers around the state such as The Union Leader and The Citizen have endorsed McCain. The endorsements have pretty much been how they traditionally go.
I think we will truly have to see how the election goes before we can make assumptions about the future of NH. I do not believe the polls that have Obama winning by 17%. I am working on the streets and the phones campaigning and I believe all races in this state will be much closer than the blow outs that are being predicted.
Please don't use the Concord Monitor to educate yourself on politics-or anything for that matter.

+1 There are plenty of good small government conservatives in NH.

The Monitor makes Pravda look like the Washington Times.

I would be equally disappointed by an endorsement of McCain....both parties are a threat to the "Live Free or Die" mentality, they just attack it in different ways.

Judging from the political signs, it seems that there are many of both parties living here.

If you want 100% red or dead conservatism, you'd better set your sights on Alabama. It should hardly be surprise that NH has a mixed bag of politics given its swing state status the last few years....

The states that are the reddest are ones that you would expect:
Alaska
Utah
Alabama
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Nebraska
A good political balance is the best formula for any state!!!

+1 I agree. I think NH has a good balance of left and right.
