I'll be using a vacation day to be part of a Color Guard at the ceremonies at the State Veteran's cemetery in Boscowen. It's an hour's drive from my home and I would rather be a part of Nashua's Veterans day parade but our group is committed every year to Boscowen.

Country - Thank you for starting this thread.
As most of you know, my husband is a Vietnam Vet and he also thanks you. He also said for me to say to others from that era "Welcome home!"
Many from that era never heard those 2 words. My husband was one of them.
Greg - I believe you also served in Vietnam - so Welcome Home to you!
To those who served in other wars/conflicts - thank you and Happy Veterans Day.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae
