That's cool.
We want to stay in one place, except for a couple nights when we will be in Maine. I mostly just want her to get a good feel for the state.
We get along real well in the car, so a bit of driving around won't bother us.

OK, so to bring this back instead of a new thread.
Definitely going, will be in NH from around June 12th to June 17th.
Thinking about staying at The Centennial in Concord. Is that a decent place?
Definitely want to do a mountain drive, then just chill out and see some places. Will do a little scouting, go hang out in Portsmouth for a day, probably drive to down to see Mystic Seaport, other cool stuff.
Any other suggestions for that time of year?

I would recommend looking into the Goffstown/Dunbarton area. Goffstown is a neat little village, close to Manchester & Concord. The village has different activities going on all summer long and a lot of people from the surrounding communities come out for them. You can find older homes on a good piece of land in the middle of nowhere or a newer home in a subdivision closer to town. Not sure if you have children of your own but I am very happy with the Goffstown School District, which serves Goffstown, Dunbarton & New Boston. Take a trip in the summer as well as in the fall when we are in the midst of foliage season. It's breath taking.

Just one clarification to this: Lahout's is actually on Union St (both the main store and the Discount Warehouse). Lahout's also has a third store on Main St. that features Patagonia and Life Is Good merchandise (among other higher-end stuff), but I don't think that's the Lahout's that GregW was talking about.
Union St. is actually an extension of Main St., so I can see why you might think of it as "North Main", but if you were to ask someone to direct you to Lahout's on Main, most locals would figure you meant the one that's on Main St. as opposed to Union St.
Littleton is the North Country car dealership hub, so if you make it to Littleton, check out the dealerships on Meadow St., near Wal Mart.

Try Laconia, Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, or Wolfeboro
I would suggest the Lake Winni area.
You would be able to have a slip for a boat at a marina and participate in water activities, and lots of hiking areas, around there, and to the north you'd be a short drive from franconia notch and the white mountains.
You'd only be about 20-25 miles from Concord at Laconia and Wolfeboro , Meredith areas.
I would look into all 3 of these communities.
Lake Winnipesaukee is a beautiful area in the heart of the lakes region within driving distance of Manchester and Concord.
you'd love it there
