Manchester Info (apartment, rent, crime rate)

A young female relative is moving to Manchester and looking at an apartment on Douglas Street. Someone in the family thinks (from past memory of Manchester) that it might not be a good area for a single gal. Is that a safe place to live? The rent is reasonable, but I'd help her out with some rent money if another area of the city is safer.

I am not familiar with where Douglas street is..............any more info on the area that you can share? I can look at a map later.........but if you give me some other info, I might be able to give you a better idea...............

Douglas St. is a long road located on the west side of Manchester. It is not a high crime rate area if that's what you are thinking. It is not anywhere near the 'zone' of central Manchester fame.

There is an athletic field located on that road and it runs parallel to the railroad tracks for a good length of it. Because of it's location next to a river and the RR, there is a lot of conservation land that abuts the road. She should be fine in this area.
