Default Schools in Littleton

Can anyone offer some insight into the quality of the schools in Littleton? I've read some older threads but haven't found much info, and you can only tell so much by looking at their academic scores.

Thanks in advance.

Hi MtnFlyer - I live in Littleton, but don't have children in the school system. There is another poster on the forum who does, so hopefully she will see your post and be able to give you an "inside scoop."

Hi Mtn Flyer,We've been living in Littleton for about 1 1/2yrs ,my son is in his second year of high school. So far we are very happy with the teachers and staff they show a lot of concern for the students, their are alot of sports activities this year they brought back football. They have a ski club which I think starts in middle school. They are building a whole new middle school in 09,the h.s. has a vocational center which they are redoing also,in the vocational center, they have nursing, electrical, plumbing, child care to open a day care center,as a jr if a student wants he can go over to White Mtn school for a jr ROTC program that is 3hrs, my son is going for that next year. If there is a problem a student is having or a problem a teacher is having with a student the parent will here about it.
What grade is your child in?? Classes are kept small so the student gets more one on one with the teacher.
As with any school thou you do have the kids that like to get into trouble, but they are the ones that aren't involved with sports or other activities.
They don't have track but they do have a good cross country.

I hope this helps I haven't had any regrets since we've been here with the school. If you visit they area you can get a tour of the school while it's in session meet some of the kids and teachers.

Thank you roerinaci. That is wonderful information. I have an associate who is visiting there right now. If you don't mind my asking, what prompted your relocation to Littleton? I personally have a child who is 10.

It's nice to hear positive encounters from a parent about the schools in that area. Unfortunately most of what I've heard about public schools from parents in the mountain area districts has not been good. In fact most of the people I've spoken with have pulled their children and make long daily drives to private schools.
