He won't. Like most liberals they believe if you chant something long enough it will become factual. The budget increase was made from the democrats period.

I agree with you. Aside from the rantings & ravings of his ilk which most citizens know is untrue the NH Democratic party owns this 17.5% mess, and it will be their undoing.

I happen to know where the 17.5% came from because I have asked several of my representatives. I am in NH because I do believe in small, but representative, government. Not government behind closed doors or government for realtors and bankers.

It seems to me that conservatives are only worried about themselves. This thread is a definite a display of selfishness as I have ever seen. You are angered by a poor person getting some government help but overjoyed by the wealthy getting tax cuts.

Don't get me started on Tax cuts Greg. I was poor once and I didn't Moderator cut: language pay tax, I actually got $$$ from the government. That is complete b.s.

I busted my a$$ to get where I am and now I pay through the nose and it's still not enough. I pay more in tax than most people make and that makes me evil??? I protected this country for 8 years and I pay way more than my "fair share" of taxes and I'm a bad guy. Nice generalization there.

Rep Wells lives in a $458K house. He claims his property taxes are 30% of his income. I only have the 2006 tax rate in Hamstead, NH and it's $18.12 per 1K. So $8300 in property taxes is 30% of his income.

So a person making $27,000 a year is living in a $458K home and wants to increase taxes to lessen his burden... Seems pretty reasonable.

A lot of us have busted our asses to get where we are. I don't like paying huge property taxes for a fancy high school. I don't need a fancy expensive school. I don't have any kids so why should I pay for their education? I don't use the state parks so why should I pay for them? I don't see that the state or local cops do anything useful so why pay for those? I do use the library so I am willing to pay for that. I do drive on the roads so keeping them plowed and repaired is worth while to me.

Maybe we should all have a choice as to what we support and send out taxes to only the things we want. That would certainly be more democratic.

So......did your state reps whisper the super secret code words in your ear on this 17.5%. Let's hear all about it In general you often make no sense out here. Your rage against conservatives borders on the creepy if you ask me.

GregW has been called on this before. He has never provided a link to support his claim. No evidence at all. He is simply parroting some line from the state Democrat party...

From the article:

"My property tax this year will represent approximately 30 percent of my total income."

If that is the case, this guy cannot afford the house. If the property tax is 30%, how much of his total income does the mortgage represent? He should get housing more in line with his income or increase his income.
