Actually NJ has had some job creation. I read an article that since 2000, 97% of job creation has been government jobs. That is what happens when states are run by liberal tax and spenders. At one time, NJ only had property taxes. When they were implemented the income and sales taxes were going to temporary taxes and at much lower rates than today. And they were going to lower property taxes. NJ is one of the highest taxed states in the nation and they are filing-along with MA and other states for a federal bailout. All that $$ they steal from working people and they still need more.

Just remember, implementing a new tax will not lower your property taxes. They get more of your $$ and only want even more.

I'd be all for that, and not just a flat percentage. I'm talking about the amount of taxes to be collected divided by every person in the country. I'll proudly cut the check for myself and each of my dependents on April 15th. Those who don't pay can be treated like any other person who doesn't pay their taxes.

Here's another idea. How about we divide the states and let the liberals live in their half under their tax laws and those who have decided to make something of themselves and pay their own way can take the other half. Oh wait. That can't work. There wouldn't be anyone to fund the welfare programs on the left side of the country.

NH has always been Sui Generis, a state unlike any other. We pay our state reps $100 a year. We keep all their terms to 2 years. We have no sales tax & no income tax. We had over 100 years of Republican leadership because in most cases those Republicans were in-tune with the citizens of the state. While all other northeast states keep losing population, and jobs, NH bucks that trend, alone, and prospers. So is it any wonder that those of us who understand how & why NH works are concerned about the future of this state....and all these people who are trying to change the culture ?

We know what we are doing up here ! We are no perfect, but we really have an "advantage". Some people like to mock the NH Advantage". Say this state is for the benefit of rich people; which is absurd. NH works well BECAUSE we limit government. Look at Massachusetts. Corruption, billions of dollars in future pension benfits for layabouts. Endless taxes....and still in debt.

For the first time in the history of NH a DEMOCRAT governor & house & senate bonded over school debt. We have always paid cash until this gang got into power. We should not be doing this. They do this in other states and over time it ruins their bond ratings.

If we don't fight for NH these people will take it away. It's that simple. We will become just another cold, snowy, northeast state that people move away from. Another Maine, another Massachusetts.

New Hampshire is the greatest state in the Union, and certainly is the best in New England.

New Hampshire has always lead surveys for New England in wealth, health and safety. It is no longer. It is a travesty to watch the New Hampshire take a drop from the top three positions in these catagories are the Democrats have taken over. Spending is out of control, up $500 million. Taxes are increasing. The amount of laws are increasing.

There is an effort by Will Smith, a rep from New Castle/ Rye, to kill "donor towns" which essentially is "socialistic" funding for education. Take from the rich towns, give to the poor towns. Ironically, the democratic reps, like Fuller Clark, also agree about ending the "donor towns" yet still lobby other wealth redistribution programs.

New Hampshire needs life support. Or else, it will become Massachusetts Jr.

There is still lots of hope for NH i feel. I am relatively young (22 years old), and almost all kids my age, most of whom should fall into the college educated liberal mold, hold very conservative values. The problem is that they don't really even know what a liberal is. They just hear from their college professors that republicans are bad, and vote accordingly. I try my best to open the eyes of my friends and show them what liberalism is really all about, as much as my ranting annoys them. My point is, we have a good young base of conservatism in this state, these people just need to start thinking independently.

It is refreshing to hear that you are only 22 and have been able to think for yourself and have not become brainwashed by the liberalism that is spewed by 99% of college professors today. Please keep educating your peers and become as involved as you can!

Great quote and so very true. I think that people need to remind themselves not only what basis our country was founded on but also what the constitution really says about what government should and should not be involved in with it's citizens lives. Jefferson and others back then knew what would happen when the government gets too much control of our $$, our lives and our liberties.
