No. Snow tires seem to wear well. I recently got a set of four 16" Michelin snow tires with wheels off craigslist for $100. I put them on the Sienna and my wife says it is great. She is a ski instructor and drives in snow a lot....

If you leave snow tires on during the summer they will wear very rapidly because they are made of rubber that gets very soft and sticky at the higher road surface temperatures. They also do not handle as well as summer tires because of tread squirm that clears the snow. They are also a lot louder.

Winter - Cooper mud & snow. Summer - Nokian I3
