Default b & b in manchester or nashua for the weekend

Hi all,

My husband and I are going to New Hampshire for a weekend in Feb. to check out many of the wonderful areas that you all recommend on this site. We are considering moving there from Chicago. We are ready to start our family, be in a great community and to be closer to my family (CT). Do you have any recommendations for B & Bs that are not too expensive in either of the above cities or somewhere around there? We would also do a hotel/motel but we don't want anything expensive. We are going to spend our time checking out Bedford, Hollis, Keene, Nashua, Exeter, etc. Thanks for the help!! We can't wait!

Hi J & K
If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion during your New Hampshire stay, I'd suggest The Bedford Village Inn, however, inexpensive is not a word that comes to mind for this place (avg. prices start at $250/night). Quite a bit less $$ is the Fox Brook Farm in nearby Amherst (Rooms & Rates at Fox Brook Farm Bed & Breakfast, Amherst, New Hampshire) very convenient to both Bedford area and Nashua as well.

If you decide that a B&B isn't in the budget for your weekend here, there are several alternatives. Super convenient to the airport in Manchester is the Highlander Inn (The Highlander Inn - Manchester, NH Lodging).

If you're going to be scoping out the Exeter area as well as Manchester/Nashua and surrounding towns, I would recommend staying in the Manchester area instead of Nashua. It's only 10 +/- miles away, but Manch. is more central to where you seem to want to be. Convenient to the interstate as well as east/west highway 101 for access to Exeter and the seacoast.

Looking forward to seeing other responses!

I know of one Bed and Breakfast in Manchester, the Ash Street Inn. I know nothing about it personally, other than I drive by it everyday. Ash Street Inn - Bed and breakfast in Manchester New Hampshire

Good luck.

Thanks, Valerie and Angela. We are definitely going to stay near the airport in Manchester. I looked at a newly remodeled Motel 8 and I will check out the one that you suggested. We are going to drive all over and then probably return in the spring to scope out more specific areas. We are thinking of renting first to get started and not feel so pressured to buy a house from Chicago. We will definitely use this site and might need your expertise later on. Take care!!
