A litmus test? How about, if you want a Mass style state government, stay in Mass. I don't mean to come off as rude, but I get really angry hearing things that sound to me like, "A massive pension fund increase for the public school administrators will be good for the children," with as much emotion and anger as one can put on it. They don't use those words, but can you imagine someone fanatically telling you about some swampland in Florida, then fanatically insisting that you have to pay more taxes for it? The MSM, public schools, NPR, marxist college professors, etc, keep repeating that incessantly, and I get tired of being told something ridiculous as though I'm stupid enough to believe it.

Ahhh! It's been a while but I see that CD NH hasn't changed an iota. Loads of carpetbagging non-natives telling others seeking information on moving to NH how to be a true resident of the state. Awesome--or, wicked awesome!

And Massachusetts really is nowhere near as bad as the people here make it out to be.

Eek...this thread turned into exactly what I didn't want it to. I even begged and pleaded for everyone to not take it there but that's where it went. It makes me sad.

I shouldn't have mentioned anything about politics whatsoever...ironically the entire reason I even hinted at anything was to try to call attention to the fact that I didn't want this to be about politics at all. I definitely understand that everyone feels strongly about what they believe in, and that is a wonderful thing. But just in the interest of this thread's original topic, perhaps we all could put differences aside and just offer our opinions on the quality of life in local towns for a couple in their 20s?

I think some of the posters on this thread are correct in their assessment that any political reference I made was more on the social side of things instead of the property/money side. I've admitted that I'm rather naive about politics in general, so my use of the term liberal was definitely more along the lines of supporting gay marriage, etc. But I also don't want to get into that at all in this thread.

Please forgive me everyone for ever even touching on a word of politics either way. While I'm disheartened that this thread has evolved the way so many seem to have on here, I'm hopeful maybe we can get back on track to the main point of my first post. Please understand that upon further research I do feel supportive of a more independent way of life with less taxes, etc. But please also understand that I'm not in a place in my life where I've been involved actively in MA to support or oppose these things. I'm young and I have plenty to learn, assuredly, but I'm hoping maybe this thread won't be the venue for that.

I truly appreciate everyone's help.

You're venting your anger to people who have nothing to do with such a thing. Would you just walk up to random people in MASS and start spouting off like this? Of course not. We all should show the same civility here. I'm a real person, heck, you may even meet me someday, or the OP for that matter.

You have ruined this forum for me! I am new to this forum and really thought it would be a place where I could get information and share information. If I had wanted to be thrust into something politically charged, I would have joined a campaign. Just stop the madness! To each his own! Life free or die!!!!

I'm out!

As a sixth generation Washingtonian, I watched over the course of my life the state being invaded by tax loving liberals who never got involved in local politics at any level. They mindlessly elected the worst criminals imaginable to public office, supported by millions of dollars in union dues money and $100k + "loans," elections fraud, class warfare, race baiting, etc. The state Democratic Party got taken over by these interest groups that basically steal everything that isn't bolted down. I now see them doing this everywhere in the country, and it makes me sick to see people just aimlessly showing up to the polls and voting for all of the rhetoric. Some of these people are truly evil (and I don't exaggerate), and they feel it necessary to rub it in to those of us who knew what was going on. I'm tired of seeing government officials ruining peoples' lives--and gloating about it.

I'm unsubscribing from this thread because it has gone completely off topic despite my desperate pleas for otherwise. I literally begged for this not to turn into a political discussion but it's gone that way anyway. And then I begged again, hoping the discussion would turn around. I don't know what else to do. Perhaps I'll see some of you on some other boards sometime. If not, I wish you all the best (truly)!
