Default limited TV access in north country

Next week, people in three North Country communities may no longer be getting cable television.Windjammer Communications bought out Time Warner in Milan, Stratford and Groveton, and more than 200 people are having trouble getting stations such as WMUR with just a TV antenna.

although residents can currently watch about 20 stations, that will all change next week.

Milan used to have a contract with Time Warner, but Windjammer is under no obligation to continue services and they don't plan to.

Residents now have the choice of getting a satellite dish or DirecTV...

the people that choose the dish, won't get WMUR...

I wish we could all go back to the old days of free TV even if the we were limited to 6 stations.....

next week a number of people all over will lose some tv transmission. although congress wants to push the digital switch-over until later in the year (June?), some stations are going ahead and switching anyway.

So... if you don't have the digital tuner for your older tv, or you aren't on cable or satelite... you're gonna lose it anyway - at least some channels.
