Belsmama, what kind of food do they most enjoy? A steakhouse was mentioned, but take out steak just doesn't sound very good... There is a pretty wide variety of food available for takeout in Bedford. For seafood, Weathervane Seafood restaurant would work nicely, especially if they have a toaster over to reheat if they go w/ fried seafood. There is a T-Bones, an Outback and an Applebees for "typical American fare", or Carrabba's if they like Italian (great food, BTW!) Let's see, what else... the Red Arrow Diner in Manchester will be happy to do "take out" for you...

There's a most yummy restaurant in nearby Amherst called The Black Forrest Cafe, where they can get a couple quarts of soup (excellent soup, if I must say...) Oh, hey... if they like soup (WHO doesn't like soup???) the "best kept secret" out there is a little soup kitchen in Nashua called Collin's Brothers, all sorts of soup... they sell it by the pint, quart or gallon and best of all, you can sample to make sure you like it b4 you buy it

Thanks, Valerie! Those are excellent suggestions, especially because they're new to the area and would, I'm sure, love to have some fare from local places. I agree about take-out steak--although after giving birth, I would have eaten absolutely anything provided someone else brought it to me, I'd rather give them something that's really appetizing!
I'll be there visiting next week, and I'll be sure to check out The Black Forrest Cafe and the Red Arrow Diner. And we love seafood, so the Weathervane sounds perfect.
Thanks, everyone.
