Default How I spent my weekend.

I took my oldest son Orion, who is 8, to the range on Saturday to shoot his first gun. It was a pretty special time for the two of us. For those who have kids you know what I mean. He still can't stop talking about it.

First shot hit the wood target frame and once I reminded him of the proper trigger control every shot after was either a 9 or a 10. I am one very proud father. A future SDM in the making.

I like the Homeland Defense Rifle.

What are the specs? Upper, barrel, hand guard, scope mount, grip, etc?

White Oak Upper 18" Wilson 1:8 barrel. 12" Daniel Defense rail. LaRue forward grip, LaRue SPR mount, Leupold Mark4 MR/T 1.5x5, Anvil Arms lower, Geissele trigger.

I am still waiting on delivery on my Troy BUIS, and a Magpul CTR stock.

I was shooting 75gr and 77gr black hills and was stacking rounds at 50 yards. It's a slick shooter.

nice to see so much support for the kid

remember Blake Douglass and his lawsuit against Londonderry HS? He was an award winning sharp shooter and posed for his senior picture with his weapon broken open upon his shoulder. The school refused to allow his picture to be put in the yearbook.
