King George "W" certainly did a good job (or maybe it was Rush) of making taxes the enemy. Where do you think govt. services come from????? Cut all the taxes and where ya gonna get roads / bridges / libraries / police / fire / parks / colleges / schools / water treatment / etc. / etc. / etc.
Well, no these "teabaggers" were not there to attack Obama as you put it. They were there to protest out of control spending and taxation by the government-both PRIOR and CURRENT administrations-as I wrote in one of my earlier posts. Many of us are sick and tired of years of out of control government. If Obama is taking a brunt of the heat it is because he is now the president and he is giving us the largest deficit in history and the largest spending in history. He said he would not go for earmarks and pork type prgrams but signed them anyway-no amount of yelling "George Bush" is going to change that.

We also know that while he claims he will not raise taxes on the so-called middle class, he has not made an effort to extend the Bush tax cuts for the middle class, like making permanent the marriage penalty correction and also making permanent the 10% bracket before it returns to 15%. While I do think all the Bush tax cuts should be made permanent, I also find it interesting that many people actually believe all these cuts are only for the "rich". So now someone in the 10% bracket is considered "rich"?

We also know that with the out of control spending going on, it will only be a matter of time before taxes are raised on the so-called "non-rich".

I find it interesting that because I want to go to a tea party, I am labeled a crazy Obama hater and it is just assumed that I like George Bush and loved everything he did and sat idly by during his 8 years. Well I did not vote for Bush either time, I campaigned, unfortunately not successfully, to have someone else win the 2000 primary and I made myself extremely vocal with all of my displaesure with him through out his 8 years. Some of us on here are not blindly partisian- I think Bush and Obama were/are both bad for this country and for our constitution. I also say the same for about 98% of congress.

I am angry at both parties because they all played a part in out of control spending and government waste. It is why I have voted third party in the last 3 presidential elections. We only continue to get more of the same with either a D or an R.

And regarding federal taxes, there are very few things that should be funded with federal taxes. As DogNH stated, most things you listed should be decided and payed for by the town you live in.

Dover was decent but not large and we had a good time.

Manchester had a lot of people-hard to tell as YinDuffy said-I am not the best at estimating but I would say 1000 would not be way off. I am hoping that organizers or newspapers may list turnout today.

If I could have I would have gone to Manchester yesterday - but am certainly repulsed by the assumption that those who did attend were blindly partisan. Thanks for the reports, Yinduffy and Nicolem.
