DOVER — When the Woodman Institute opens its doors this morning for 2009, a special exhibit honoring President Abraham Lincoln and his historic visit to the Garrison City will await visitors inside.

Thom Hindle, a Dover photographer and chairman of the Woodman Institute Museum's board of trustees, said the they wanted to devote an exhibit to Lincoln as part of the nation's celebration of the bicentennial of his birthday on Feb. 12, 2009.

"Dover is part of the Lincoln trial," said Hindle Tuesday afternoon.

The Lincoln exhibit is sponsored by Red's Shoe Barn in Dover and can be viewed throughout the museum's 2009 season, which runs from April 1 to Nov. 30. The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information can be found on the museum's website, www.woodmaninstitutemuseum.org.
