Looking for rental in Keene/Winchester area. HELP! (apartments, rentals)

Hello all!

I've been put to work by my boyfriend to find an affordable house rental for him and his three roommates. They are responsible guys (2 of them are graduated from college and have full-time jobs, and the other 2 are seniors in college and have part-time jobs) and they are looking for a house outside of Keene, as they want a country home where they can get more bang for their buck. They don't mind traveling up to 35 minutes from Keene. Housing rentals in Keene are RIDICULOUS - you've never seen such dumps for $2000 a month! Basically they want a nice place with a decent-size yard/land. Three of them are aspiring filmmakers and one is a cartoonist. They really want a bigger piece of land where they can relax and be inspired.

Does a place like this exist? I've searched craigslist, apartments.com, rent.com, local classifieds... We found one amazing house but it was too small for them. The other houses are not interested in college boys, even though these guys obviously don't want to be partiers - if they did, they'd stay in Keene! Does anyone know where I can look next?
