Default How far north is cable internet service offered in New Hampshire? Which companies are the providers?

Hi guys. I was wondering how far north is cable internet service offered in New Hampshire? What companies are the internet service providers? I've only been able to find Comcast so far and was hoping there were more competitors. Probably a lost cause, I live in northeast Connecticut and we only have 1 internet service provider here which is Charter.

Does cable internet service reach as far north as Lancaster, Jefferson, or Berlin? Is there anyone here browsing this website right now that lives above Lincoln or Woodstock?

I already know I want to move to either Vermont or New Hampshire and the no state income tax and no general sales tax laws of New Hampshire are very appealing. However, cable internet is very important to me so I'd love to hear from someone who could tell me more.

Is it true that any place which has cable television can also have cable internet? I know someone who lives in Lyndonville, Vermont that has cable television and that's just as far north as Lancaster.

Metrocast covers the seacoast area and Time Warner covers the western portion of the state. Adelphia is also out there somewhere....

for those towns that don't have cable, there is always satellite.

We're in Littleton - We used to have Adelphia, but Time-Warner bought them, so we have Time-Warner <g>.....We have our TV and internet and phone service through them. I use the internet for work and it's been very reliable. I think if you go to the Time-Warner website you can find what areas they service.

I've seen Fairpoint trucks up here, but I'm not sure if they are in the area or not.

Just be aware that in the towns up here that do have cable, it's not available in all parts of town, typically just the more settled areas. If you buy a house outside of town, Time-Warner is willing to run lines, but it will cost you to get it run to your house, potentially as much as $10,000 or more.
