Recommendation on Publications..
Can anyone recommend some publications(magazines, newspapers etc. ) that we can subscribe to? We would love to have some more sources of info. on NH and try to keep up with the local news and what's going on. We are looking for NH specific publications. Does NH have anything similar to Down East magazine like Maine?
Thanks!!! and HAPPY EASTER TO ALL

Yankee Magazine is a good one! I'm not sure if it is ONLY for NH, but it's very informative, gives great ideas for places to visit in the state, articles about the wildlife, etc.
: )
Happy Easter

no, Yankee is not just NH: it's New England plus New York - and seemed to spend an awful lot of time on recipes. I gave them up a few years ago when all they could devote to the Old Man falling down was 1 page - too busy with recipes (and not necessarily old yankee ones - but modern from anywhere). There just seemed to be less and less about New England <sigh>
There is, or was, a New Hampshire Magazine New Hampshire Magazine > Home for some reason my browser can never access the site though. But I've heard it exists(ed).

New Hampshire newspapers are generally available online:
UnionLeader.com - New Hampshire news, business and sports
Fosters.com - Dover NH, Rochester NH, Portsmouth NH, Laconia NH, Sanford ME
And dozens of weekly local newspapers as well, depending on which area you're considering....
I'm a big fan of NH ToDo, and New Hampshire Magazine. LOTS of good info in both. Let me check the current price through our middle school magazine subscription center. Last time I check, NH to do was running a great special. Casey B, I"m not sure if this would be considered 'solicitation', if so, just delete

No, it's fine. As long as you don't own it or write for it.
I gotta agree with WannaComeHome, Yankee isn't very "yankee" anymore.

sorry! I haven't read Yankee in quite a while, so I didn't realize it had gone down the tubes so badly! LOL

They have kind of ruined Yankee. It only comes out 6 times a year now, every other month, and costs $5

New Hampshire Magazine is good - they do annual listings of best doctors, best lawyers, etc and have calendars that tell you about events in different parts of the state.
Yankee covers all of New England and has really beautiful photographs but it's pretty light reading.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will be trying out NH Magazine and probably NHToDo also. Anyone have Parenting NH? With 4 little ones I would love to check it out also. Any input?

It's a free magazine that you can pick up at stores, pediatricians' offices, etc. Lots of ads and a few articles. Might be fun to look through while you're here, but I wouldn't pay for it. Same with the free magazine put out by the state liquor stores - it tells you about different food/wine events in the area.
