Default Living in NH, working in VT?

I am interviewing for a position that could be located anywhere in VT. What are some good cities to consider along the NH/VT border?

Are you looking for a good school system or is that not an issue? If it is, Then you ought to consider the Lebanon/Hanover/Dartmouth area. But prices are somewhat higher there. If inexpensive housing is what you're about, yet in a nice town, I've heard the Walpole (about 20 min. north of Keene) is a really neat little town with a lot to offer. I don't know anything about the school district there though. Alstead and Acworth are also nice and very scenic towns. Towns in the Connecticut River Valley (the river is the border between NH and VT) like Plainfield, Cornish and Charlestown are beautiful too.
