About to buy in Stratham, need some quick help!
Hi, I am about to buy a house in Stratham. I've done a lot of research on NH, mostly in the southern area as well as the sea coast. I believe Stratham has the best combination of small town feel, country scenicness, access to the ocean and of course Exeter.
That said, it doesn't have a true town center, and has a bit of big box strip through 108 on the way to Exeter.
Can anyone who lives in Stratham whether the town has this under control or are they expected to allow this growth to continue until it gets to look like the area in Amherst on 101A?
Are there any negatives about Stratham I should be aware of? I noticed that there are a lot of new developments, like Union St., but I'm preferring to go with an older neighborhood (80's) as I prefer the architecture and the less modern/contemporary and somewhat uniform nature of the newer developments (no offense intended, I know there are pros and cons of both, believe me I'm sort of torn between newer and older). Do people think it will hold its value compared to the newer constructed houses that tend to be on rolling open areas as opposed to more secluded woodsy areas?
I appreciate all advice anyone can offer.
