It won't lower other taxes or fees. It will simply GROW the state government. When it grows the appetite for money grows with it. A government never gets smaller, we can only slow it's growth as much as possible.
Exactly....once power or wealth is gained by the government, it is almost NEVER rescinded.....that goes for Dems and Republicans.
My family and I are considering on making a move to NH. But my friend from NH who was a life time Democrat recently said things are getting bad in NH due to the new political changes, do you agree? Tell more about this video please!
You would make or not make a move on one YouTube video. most are posted by wanna be Dan Rather's who need their 15 minutes of fame. If the politician is that bad, vote him out and move on.

Well-I am not commenting on the video but to answer your question, yes things are getting out of control in NH. In the past two budget cycles there has been an increase of over 30%, many new taxes and fees, increases in taxes and fees, tolls increased two times, I could go on and on-that is just financial. We new have a smoking ban, texting ban, etc. Again I could go on and on. HHS now makes up more than half of our budget. In my opinion, I would wait to see the results of the 2010 elections before moving here to see if people wake up and vote out all these tax and spenders because I feel that we are at a turning point here and with the recent renewed talk of an income tax, these tax and spenders having been in charge and going crazy with little accountability, I feel that if they are reelected then they won't hold back on even further spending, including proposing an income tax.

NH is not "getting bad"; it is a fantastic place to live and I believe it will continue to be so for a long time to come. We are one of the wealthiest and safest states in the country. Sure there are plenty of political concerns...but the state is not "getting bad" by any means.
Thank you! Thats good to hear, because all i read and hear on the news is that NH is becoming another sicko lefty Liberal state!!!

Here's my guess fo next year: NH republicans win back the state house & senate. They win the U.S. senate seat. they win back the first CD congressional seat, but lose the second CD. If the NHGOP puts up a strong, well known person like former state senator Bruce Keough they win the governor's office. Somone like Keough would most likely even push Lynch away from running for a 4th term. If the NHGOP puts up a noname for governor, again, they lose it in a close race.

I hope you are right and I am trying to be optomisitc but sometimes it is not easy. Hopefully the fiscally conservative, live free or die republicans can reclaim the state house-anyone who is not needs to be shown the door along with all the dems currently there.
I must say I wish we had a better candidate for senate. I am not thrilled with Kelly Ayotte.
I hope Keough does run. I often wonder how different things might have been if he had defeated Benson in the republican primary.
