I havent really walked in Downtown Manchester so I havent seen what its realy about but for anyone who knows, what us city is it comparable to? Omaha? Tampa?
Id just like to hear thoughts because its a consideration for me when it comes time to move.

Lol, I'm guessing it's nothing like Tampa or Omaha. I would think it was more comparable to Burlington, VT and Portland, Maine.

Manchester is not at all like Burlington or Portland IMO and its certainly not like Tampa. Manchester is an old industrial city whereas Burlington is a college town and Portland is a port city.

It's small and it doesn't have Warren Buffet driving economic growth. Nor does it have a major university like Burlington or the artsy vibe of Portland from what I've seen. It's an old mill city that fell on hard times. There have been attempts at gentrification but I don't think it's there yet. There are some neat museums and restaurants, but it doesn't feel like a "city" city to me yet.

It's like a small version of Boston without all the gangs, projects, and crime activity.

I would sort of compare Manchester to Utica, NY or Williamsport, PA.

I have never been there. I know it is a larger metro than Manchester and south of Cleveland.

No need to walk downtown Manchester - there's nothing there to see - unless you work downtown, then it's fine for lunch.
Manchester is an old mill city, which has done a poor job at building economic vitality. It's a decent place to work (lots of companies), there are some nicer neighborhoods (north end), but there is very little in terms of city living - 99% of retail, etc is out in strip mall land on the edge of town.
I would compare it to Haverhill or Worcester - but much smaller (only one downtown commercial street (Elm/Hanover).
If you're looking for city living in NH, I'd look elsewhere - perhaps Portsmouth.
